After 14 years in the pharmaceutical industry Mark founded Equinox Chemicals in 2003 with the intent to build a custom organic synthesis research and manufacturing company that delivered high quality products on demand. My goal is to provide the highest levels of product quality and customer service to meet all of our customer’s needs.

Thaddeus Hollingsworth,
Chief Technology Officer

A graduate of Eastern Mennonite University Thaddeus joined Equinox Chemicals in 2004. Thaddeus quickly developed into a senior chemist and more recently our Chief Technology Officer.

In addition to the managers below we have over 18 people in operations and production supporting manufacturing around the clock seven days a week.

Kay Brantley, Compliance Manager

Kay graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Environmental Engineering.   Kay worked at Merck and Co., Inc as an environmental engineer in compliance prior to joining Equinox Chemicals in 2008. Kay is responsible for all regulatory compliance initiatives at Equinox Chemicals.

Andrew Deluca, Sales Manager

Andrew started in the chemical industry in the food, flavor, and fragrance sector in 1985 working for Noville Essential Oil Co as a buyer. In 1992, he moved into sales for Nickstadt Moeller Inc and eventually became Sales Manager. In 2002, Andrew moved to Georgia for Abaco, Inc as Sales Manager. Andrew joined Equinox Chemicals as Sales Manager in April of ’08.

Jonathon Dyson, Senior Chemist/Pilot Plant Manager

Jonathon a native of Key West Florida joined Equinox Chemicals in 2006 as a chemist. Jonathon’s experience with acetylene chemistry and continuous processes has allowed Equinox Chemicals to develop several large scale continuous acetylene processes.

Chris Hankinson, Purchasing/Outsourcing Manager

Chris joined Equinox Chemicals in 2006 from Johnstown, PA. Chris brings 10 years of sales and outsourcing experience to his position at Equinox Chemicals. Chris is responsible for all domestic and international raw material and product outsourcing contracts as well as all Equinox catalog sales and inventory.

Dr. Vittorio Montanari M.S., PhD.,
Research and Development Manager

Dr. Montanari joined Equinox Chemicals in 2008 as Research and Development Manager. With a M.S. in organic chemistry from the University of Milan, Italy and a PhD. in chemistry from Clemson University and a post doc position at Tufts University Vittorio leads our research team developing new products and process development opportunities. His industry experience at Fluorous Technologies, Inc and PPG Industries has added a valuable asset to Equinox Chemicals.

Melinda Newberry – Office Manager

Melinda joined Equinox Chemicals in 2005 as office manager. Prior to joining Equinox Melinda had over 20 years experience managing several business offices.

Trey Ragan, Bulk Manufacturing Manager

Trey joined Equinox Chemicals in 2008 as Manufacturing Manager. Trey brings his large scale chemical operations experience with Merck and Co., Inc and Wind Gap Farms, Inc. to Equinox Chemicals. Trey is responsible for product operations at >55gal scale.
